France Tennis French Open Underarm Serves

FILE - In this June 9, 1986, file image top-seed Ivan Lendl holds his trophy in Paris after winning the French Open tennis tournament with his victory over Sweden's Mikael Pernfors. Lendl beat Pernfors 6-3, 6-2, 6-4. Lendl was on the receiving end of the most famous underarm serve in tennis history, when a cramping Michael Chang used one to win a point in the fifth set of their fourth-round match at Roland Garros in 1989. Underarm serves are being used by some players at this year's French Open and there is some discussion about whether they are a legitimate tactic. Lendl tells the AP they're "perfectly fine."
