Fightless Flyers Hockey
FILE - In this March 8, 1977, file photo, Philadelphia Flyers Bob Kelly, left, and Dave Williams (22) of the Toronto Maple Leafs fight in the first period, before both drawing penalties of five minutes for fighting and Williams a game misconduct that sent him to the showers, during an NHL game in Philadelphia. In the 1970s, the Flyers had guys like Dave “The Hammer” Schultz, Bob “The Hound” Kelly and Andre “Moose” Dupont around to not just beat opponents but beat them up, too. More than 40 years later, the Flyers still carry the “Bullies” nickname but are hardly bullying anyone: They’re one of only two teams in the NHL without a fight a quarter of the way through the season.
