Lawyers began closing arguments in the case of three former Memphis police officers charged in the fatal beating of Tyre Nichols in 2023. Prosecutors argued the officers _ Tadarrius Bean, Demetrius Haley and Justin Smith _ used excessive force in the arrest. Defense attorneys argued that Nichols wouldn't comply and the force was not excessive.
