More than half of Canadians understand why the province of Alberta might want to become an independent country, a new poll suggests, though more than three in five say they don't want that to happen. Sébastien Dallaire, Leger's executive vice-president for Eastern Canada, said the survey suggests that there's a "level of empathy" for Albertans.(May 22, 2025)
