Recycle program aims to keep construction waste from landfills

A non-profit venture launched on Vancouver Island aims to convince property developers, construction companies and contractors to recycle their project waste materials by signing up for an online marketplace that works like a dating website. Building Material Exchange spokesman Gil Yaron says the recycling program will run an online platform where construction companies and developers can list their available project leftovers for others to use rather than sending the materials to the dump.
