Vancouver mayor says supportive housing leaving Granville Street

Vancouver Mayor Ken Sim says provincial Housing Minister Ravi Kahlon has committed to transitioning supportive housing away from the city's entertainment district. He says they spoke after the latest fire at a supportive housing facility that Vancouver Fire Rescue says has been the subject of more than 900 emergency call outs since 2020. (June 12, 2025)
