Bogota ends drought-related water rationing. Its case serves as a warning to other cities

Once thought immune to water shortages, Bogotá faced historic reservoir lows due to a relentless drought, leading to its first water rationing in over 40 years. Mayor Carlos Fernando Galán announced the rationing will end Saturday but the crisis offers a stark glimpse of what’s to come for other global cities unless urgent investments are made.
