BOYD GANG CAPTURED IN BARN — Fugitive Edwin Alonzo Boyd, is back behind bars in the North York police station, September 16, 1952. On September 8, 1952, Boyd and three other prisoners had escaped from the Don Jail in Toronto. Boyd, Lennie Jackson; Willie Jackson (no relation); and Steve Sucha had all been charged with armed robbery, and Lennie Jackson and Suchan were about to go on trial for murdering a Toronto police officer. A massive manhunt resulted in their capture on a deserted farm in the Township of North York. Suchan and Lennie Jackson were later convicted of murder and hanged on December 16, 1952.
