Pop-up shelter opens for pets displaced due to Manitoba wildfires
One of Manitoba's largest animal shelters is stepping up to house wildfire evacuees' furry loved ones as roughly 17,000 people have been forced from their homes due to out-of-control blazes in the province. The Winnipeg Humane Society has opened a pop-up shelter in the south end of the city that is equipped to care for 60 pets free of charge. (Jun 4, 2025)
