Newsroom Ready: Canadians urged to heed lessons of war in ceremonies marking D-Day anniversary

Canadians were urged to heed the eternal lessons of the Second World War as ceremonies commemorating the 75th anniversary of D-Day were held Thursday in cities across the country. Veterans and dignitaries including Gov. Gen. Julie Payette attended ceremonies in Halifax and Ottawa marking the June 6, 1944 Allied invasion of France that turned the tide of the war.
