B.C. clamps down on COVID-19 compliance with fines for party hosts, individual guests

Public Safety Minister Mike Farnworth says property owners and hosts can be fined $2,000 for events found in violation of public health orders, while individual guests may face $200 tickets for refusing to disperse or follow COVID-19 safety plans at restaurants and other businesses. He says stronger actions are being taken because the behaviour of a small minority of "selfish individuals" is putting vulnerable B.C. residents at risk.
