Newsroom Ready: Qualtrough outlines new benefits, EI changes to replace CERB

The federal Liberals are rolling out a $37-billion income-support plan for workers still struggling from the shutdown. That includes extending the Canada Emergency Response Benefit another four weeks, three new benefits and easing access to employment insurance for at least the next year. Employment Minister Carla Qualtrough says the CERB has been a "lifeline" for millions of Canadians during the COVID-19 pandemic.
