Canada opens 2020 world juniors with wild 6-4 win over U.S.

Canadian star Alexis Lafreniere scored the winning goal late in the third and added three assists to lead his team over the Americans in the opener for both countries at the 2020 world junior hockey championship. Barrett Hayton added two power-play goals for Canada, while Nico Daws made 28 saves in his first international start.
