Maple Leaf Foods CEO speaks on Iran crash

In an unprecedented move, Maple Leaf Foods CEO took to twitter to criticize the US government for the Iranian missile strike that brought down a Ukrainian jet. All 176 people aboard the jet died, including 57 Canadians. The victims included a company employee's wife and 11-year-old son. Experts say there are risks involved when a business leader — like Michael McCain — enters a political debate including backlash from Canadian and American consumers, as well as possible retaliation from the U.S. government. So far the reaction on Twitter to McCain's tweets has been mixed. Some Twitter users announced their support for the brand and its CEO's comments. While some gently stated Iran was solely to blame and others took the opportunity to call for Maple Leaf Foods to be boycotted.
