B.C. announces three COVID-19 deaths, 30 new cases

Dr. Bonnie Henry, B.C.’s provincial health officer, announced three COVID-19 deaths and 30 new cases Monday, bringing the province’s total to 103 cases. Henry says the three deaths were all residents of a North Vancouver long-term care home where a man in his 80s died of COVID-19 last week. Henry says B.C. is taking more enhanced measures to fight the novel coronavirus, including restricting events and gatherings to 50 people or less, cancelling elective surgeries to free up acute care space at hospitals and she’s asking people who attended a large, international dental conference in Vancouver March 6 to 7 to self-isolate after four people at the conference have tested positive for the virus.
