Newsroom Ready: Ex-police chief in Nova Scotia sentenced to 15 months in jail for sexually exploiting teen

The former police chief in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia was sentenced today to 15 months in jail for sexually exploiting a 17-year-year-old girl. Nova Scotia Supreme Court Justice Mona Lynch said 56-year-old John Collyer had breached the trust of the girl's family and the community as a whole. The victim read aloud from a statement in which she described Collyer as a "monster."
