NL Homeowner Travel 20200826
The view from Battery, a historic fishing village within St. John's, is shown on January 29, 2018. People who own properties in Newfoundland and Labrador but don't live there full time can apply to enter the province next week. Dr. Janice Fitzgerald, the province's chief medical officer of health, said Wednesday that the travel restriction on non-residents who own cabins and second homes will be lifted on Aug. 31. People will have to apply for an exemption to the order banning non-residents from outside Atlantic Canada and workers deemed essential from entering the province. They will have to apply with proof of home ownership and will be required to isolate for 14 days. THE CANADIAN PRESS/Paul Daly
