Trudeau promises 40 to 45 per cent emissions cut by 2030

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has unveiled Canada’s new target for reducing greenhouse gas emissions during a world leaders’ summit on fighting climate change, organized by U.S. President Joe Biden. Trudeau is promising Canada will slash its greenhouse gas emissions by 40 to 45 per cent below 2005 levels within the next decade. The new target is higher than the 36 per cent reduction the government previously committed to.
