Starbucks will stop offering plastic straws worldwide The coffee chain says it will no longer provide plastic straws by 2020 It will provide straws made from other materials, and lids designed to not need straws It's part of a push to become more eco-friendly Straws can end up in oceans and hurt fish and animals Burgers and root beer chain A&W Canada has already said it will switch to paper straws by the end of 2018 McDonalds will switch to paper straws in the U.K. and Ireland starting in September
