B.C. police watchdog rules Vancouver convenience store shooting justified
British Columbia's police watchdog says an officer was justified and "bound by his duty" when he shot and killed a man armed with a knife who stabbed an employee at a Vancouver 7-Eleven store last December. A report from the Independent Investigations Office says the shooting came after another officer's attempt to subdue the man with a stun gun failed while the attacker had two staff members trapped behind the counter. Here is video of the incident that was provided to The Canadian Press. (Oct. 22, 2025)
