JULY 6, 1970 -- ROYAL TOUR OF CANADIAN ARCTIC -- It was midnight and overcast; the community of Tuktoyaktuk, in the land of the midnight sun. The Royal Family, with RCMP officers, and Inuit officials and local children take a stroll down the muddy main street. Queen Elizabeth II, Princess Anne and Prince Charles had all changed into much warmer Inuit presentation parkas for this late evening outing, only Prince Philip chose to remain in a less-warm green loden-cloth coat.
