Calgary-based filmmakers Wendy Tilby and Amanda Forbis say their best animated short Oscar nomination for "The Flying Sailor" is like a cherry on top of a sundae for the film that was years in the making. The film centres on a seaman who was blasted two kilometres into the air and survived after two ships collided in the Halifax harbour during the First World War.
