Newsroom Ready: B.C.’s Human Rights Commissioner releases inquiry report on hate during COVID-19 pandemic

B.C.’s Human Rights Commissioner has released a nearly 500-page report on the increase in hate incidents during the COVID-19 pandemic. Kasari Govender says police reported hate incidents in B.C. in 2021 were 118 per cent higher than in 2019. She’s calling on the government to make a series of changes including creating a centralized reporting system.
