Canada airlifting citizens out of Haiti: Joly

Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly says Canadian officials have started bringing vulnerable Canadian passport holders out of Haiti by helicopter to the Dominican Republic. Conditions in Haiti continue to deteriorate as gangs have caused a collapse of most medical and food systems, and Joly says she’s hoping to also eventually airlift permanent residents of Canada. (March 25, 2024)
