Newsroom Ready: AFN national chief disappointed in Budget 2024’s infrastructure funding

Cindy Woodhouse Nepinak, the national chief of the Assembly of First Nations, is denouncing a federal budget she says all but ignores the infrastructure needs of the communities she represents. A recent Assembly of First Nations report found it will take $349 billion to bring Indigenous infrastructure to the same standard elsewhere in Canada, but Budget 2024 only committed $918 million. (April 17, 2024)
