Unifor president on the opportunity workers have to make gains post-pandemic

Lana Payne took the helm of Unifor last August as worker tensions post-pandemic were beginning to bubble over. As president Payne has overseen a high-profile strike by Metro grocery store workers across the Greater Toronto Area trying to win back ‘hero pay,’ announced a high-profile campaign drive for Amazon workers in Vancouver, and is now in bargaining for auto workers, one of the union’s key sectors which is fighting for its place in the green transition.
