Sir Barnes Wallis, famed as a designer of blockbuster bombs and aircraft, chuckles at a demonstration of the shock absorbent qualities of the Tesa-Moll industrial foam, shown at the Engineering Materials and Design international exhibition, which he opened at Olympia in London. Tesa Moll is produced by Tesa Tapes Ltd, Befont, Middlesex. Sir Barnes Wallis is chief of the Aeronautical Research and Development Department of the British Aircraft Corporation (Weybridge) Ltd. The exhibition covers material and design for products ranging from aircraft to domestic appliances.
