The statue of Captain Robert Falcon Scott in Waterloo Place, London. The sculptor was the widow of Captain Scott, Kathleen Scott, who had trained under Rodin in Paris. The bronze plaque on the base reads: 'Had we lived I should have had a tale to tell of the hardihood endurance and courage of my companions which would have stirred the heart of every Englishman but these rough notes and our dead bodies must tell the tale.'
