American President John F Kennedy, who flew in for a three-day visit to Ireland, smiles to the crowd while on his way to visit Forest Row to attend a service at the Our Lady of the Forest Church. He had come from a series of discussions with the Prime Minister Harold Macmillan at his home in nearby Birch Grove.
