A makeup artist applies a touch of lip pencil to Dame Margot Fonteyn, who is in costume for Frederick Ashton's Ondine at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. Dr Paul Czinner began, in collaboration with the Rank Organisation, to film the Royal Ballet for a feature colour film.
