Retired stonemason Fred Wilson, 65, in the former wilderness which he has turned into a Garden of Rest for local senior citizens, five hundred square yards opposite his front door in Thornton Road, Bradford. With him is his wife Elsie, who has helped him transform the area into a garden adjacent to their council owned cottage. Fred is so proud of his efforts that he is opening the garden to the public and Bradford's Lord Mayor is performing the opening ceremony.
