ALLIED SOLDIERS LOOK AT THE VAST EXPANSE OF GRAVE PLOTS NEAR ESELHEIDE, GERMANY, WHERE 30,000 RUSSIAN PRISONERS OF WAR ARE BURIED. THE CEMETERY WAS PART OF A GERMAN PRISON CAMP WHICH WAS CAPTURED BY U.S. NINTH ARMY FORCES, MORE THAN 9,000 LIVE RUSSIANS WERE LIBERATED.
