FILE-This July 1920 file photo shows six thousand people gathering to hear Sen. Warren G. Harding, R-OH, speak from the porch of his home in Marion, Ohio. The centennial of President Warren G. Harding's election was marked Monday in his home county in Ohio with a modest radio tribute rather than the grand museum and homestead re-opening envisioned before the pandemic. Harding, a Republican, was elected Nov. 2, 1920, his 55th birthday, succeeding Democrat Woodrow Wilson. He beat a fellow Ohio newspaper publisher, James Cox, on a platform of restoring normalcy after World War I and the 1918 influenza pandemic. (AP Photo, File)

The art of making Millstones is all but forgotten nowadays, yet at the start of the century it was one of the key industrial processes. The rapid rate of change industry and technology has undergone this century is incredible. Science has advanced more since 1900 than it had ever previously done. Circa 1920.
