Traffic was jammed and lines were long at the Chick-fil-A in Lexington, South Carolina, Wednesday, August 1, 2012. Thousands bought food there, most in support of the company owner's stance on biblical marriage. Lexington Police monitored the traffic flow to help relieve congestion. After several weeks of protests and mayoral catcalls stemming from Chick-fil-A president Dan Cathy's controversial public comments against same-sex marriage, supporters of the fast-food chain--and traditional marriage--turned out in droves on Wednesday, jamming many of Chick-fil-A's 1,600 U.S. stores. And protesters, for the most part, stayed away. Photo by Tim Dominick/The State/MCT/ABACAPRESS.COM # 329593_005

Some coastal states including New Jersey that oppose President Donald Trump's plan to allow offshore drilling in deeper federal waters along most of the nation's coastline are using state-level laws to try to make it difficult or impossible to conduct drilling in their areas by banning pipelines or other drilling infrastructure in state waters. Exclusive. Leon Black pictured at his home in the Hamptons, LI in New York. Black's art collection is extensive and includes Edvard Munch's 'The Scream' which he bought at auction in May 2012 for $119.9 million. American investor and art collector Leon Black is the latest high profile figure to be dragged into the Jeffrey Epstein debacle. The sexagenarian who owns a version of Edvard Munch’s masterpiece The Scream (and who reportedly paid $119.9 million for it, the highest price ever paid for a work of art at auction at that time) is under scrutiny from officials in the US Virgin Islands over his decades-long ties to Jeffrey Epstein. Black, who is the chairman of the Museum of Modern Art, and founder of the Wall Street investment firm Apollo Global Management, is the subject of civil subpoenas being sought by the territory’s attorney-general, according to the New York Times. They want Black to hand over information about his long-running business ties to the convicted sex offender, Epstein, who was found dead in jail last August. Photo by Art Seitz / ABACAPRESS.COM

FILE - In this Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012 file photo, holiday shoppers walk past a large Christmas tree at a shopping center in Newport Beach, Calif. The Islamic Defenders Front, better known for vigilante actions against gays, Christmas decorations and prostitution, has over the past decade and a half repurposed its militia into a force that's as adept at searching for victims buried under earthquake rubble and distributing aid as it is at inspiring fear.
