Scotland Yard were investigating allegations relating to irregularities in connection with the procurement of contracts at a company in south east London. * 15/02/01 The Government announced Thursday February 15, 2001 that Legacy has lost its preferred bidder status for the Millennium Dome site and fresh bids will be invited in a new competition which Legacy can continue to be involved with. The company had until yesterday to clinch a deal to turn the south east London attraction into a 125 million dot.com business park. The announcement leaves the door open for former Dome chief executive Pierre-Yves Gerbeau to pursue his bid to keep the Dome as a visitor attraction. 31/1/02: A report from a powerful Commons spending committee has criticised the Culture Department for not telling Parliament of a decision to guarantee Millennium Dome bosses against any losses the project might incur.
