Library file dated 1975 of Swinton Castle. The 18th century ancestral castle owned by the grandson of former Tory Deputy
Prime Minister Willie Whitelaw is to become a luxury hotel, it was disclosed Sunday 21 January 2001. Mark Cunliffe-Lister has been restoring the historic castle near Ripon in North Yorkshire. The castle, which was built for the Danby family, will have 17 bedrooms and three suites, and has been extensively refurbished by Mr Cunliffe-Lister and his wife Felicity.
