POLITICS Blair/Newham

PREMIUM --

Prime Minister Tony Blair plays pool with members of the Royal British Legion club in Manor Park, east london, where he came to see work being carried out in the borough of Newham to stamp out anti-social behaviour. Measures to tackle anti-social behaviour will be the centrepiece of next month's Queen's Speech, Blair said today. Mr Blair's comment indicated the importance he now places on beating crime, which is displacing issues such as education and health as the Government's top priority for action over the next year.
