Hundreds of people participated in The March of Life, which takes place annually in Warsaw in connection with the celebration of Holocaust Remembrance Day (Yom HaShoah). Participants start near the Sigismund's Column in the heart of the Old Town in Warsaw and walk down the street to the Museum of the History of Polish Jews, Polin. Similar marches are held in several countries in April and May. The purpose of this event is to commemorate the victims of the Shoah (Holocaust), honor the survivors, and express solidarity with the Jewish nation in the face of increasing anti-Semitism.
